See How We Work
Research you can follow from first respondent to final finding.
Good research is not something that should become visible only when the final report arrives. At Afridence, the work is designed to be traceable as it happens — from the decision a client needs to make, to the people who provide the data, to the evidence delivered. We don't ask you to trust the process blindly. We build the process so it can be seen, checked, and defended.
01
We start with the decision
The research starts before the questionnaire.
We begin with the decision the research needs to support. What needs to be understood? Who needs the answer? What will change if the evidence points one way rather than another?
That means we don't begin with a survey simply because a survey is familiar. We first understand the problem, then design the methodology around the decision it needs to inform.
02
We design the method
Method follows the question.
Once the research objective is clear, we develop a methodology suited to it — considering the population, the participants required, the fieldwork approach, and the quality controls needed to produce evidence that can withstand scrutiny.
The methodology is documented so that the path from research question to finding is clear.
03
We work with verified participants
The quality of the evidence starts with the person providing it.
Afridence uses a verified participant network, with participants identity-checked and profiled against the criteria required for a study before fieldwork begins.
Verification does not guarantee that every finding will be right. It reduces avoidable uncertainty before the data is collected.
04
We monitor fieldwork while it happens
Quality control should not begin after the fieldwork is over.
Afridence uses monitoring tools and real-time quality monitoring to give visibility into fieldwork as it progresses. Where quality issues are identified, they can be addressed during the process rather than discovered only after the work is complete.
05
Technology supports the researchers
AI makes the process faster. Human judgment makes it meaningful.
Afridence uses AI-assisted tools to shorten the distance between data collection and analysis. But we do not treat AI as a replacement for research judgment — every engagement pairs technology with researchers who understand the context in which the research is being conducted.
06
We make the evidence traceable
A finding should have a trail behind it.
When a client receives a finding from Afridence, there should be a clear path back to how it was produced: the research question, the methodology, the participant criteria, the fieldwork, the quality controls, the analysis, and what the evidence actually supports.
07
We keep clients close to the work
You shouldn't have to wait for the report to know what is happening.
Where the project requires it, clients receive visibility into fieldwork as it progresses — seeing progress, monitoring the collection process, and understanding how the work is developing before the final report arrives.
08
We report what the evidence supports
We don't make the data say more than it can.
Our researchers interpret findings in context and distinguish between what the evidence supports and what it does not. A research report should not simply look convincing — it should remain credible when someone asks the difficult questions.
09
We design for scrutiny
The report is not the end of the process.
A funder may ask how the sample was constructed. A regulator may ask how the data was collected. A board may ask whether the finding is reliable. We design the work with those questions in mind — documented methodology, transparent fieldwork, verified participants, and a research process that can be explained rather than simply presented.
Our Operating Principles
These are not statements for a wall. They are the standards we use to make decisions about the work.
Verification over convenience.
If a participant cannot be adequately verified against the requirements of the study, speed is not a reason to compromise.
Transparency over polish.
We believe clients should understand how their evidence was produced, not only what the final report says.
Rigour over shortcuts.
A methodology should be able to withstand questions from the people who will rely on the evidence.
People before data points.
Participants are people first. Consent, privacy, and dignity remain fundamental to the research process.
Usefulness over volume.
The objective is not to produce the most data or the most reports. It is to produce evidence that improves decisions.
One Process. No Black Box.
We want the path from question → participant → fieldwork → quality control → analysis → finding to be understandable. Not because every client needs to manage every part of the research themselves — but because serious decisions deserve evidence that can be examined. We show our work because credible evidence should have nothing to hide.
Build Evidence You Can Stand Behind.
If the decision matters enough to require defensible evidence, the process matters too. Tell us what you need to understand, measure, evaluate, or decide — we'll start with the decision and work backwards to the evidence needed to support it.
