Working with us

What does Afridence do?

Afridence is a Nigerian market research company with its own verified participant panel. We run 10 kinds of study, including consumer and shopper insight, brand health, opinion polling, product and concept testing, pricing, customer experience, retail audits and qualitative research, and we supply verified respondents for clients' own studies.

Who do you work with?

Manufacturers and FMCG brands, banks and fintechs, telecoms and technology companies, retailers and e-commerce platforms, health and pharmaceutical companies, and energy and mobility businesses.

How do I start a project?

Send us your brief, or book a 20-minute call with a researcher. We reply within 24 hours and follow up with a written proposal setting out the method, sample, cost and timeline. There is no obligation.

I am not sure which kind of study I need. Can you help?

Yes. Most clients start with a decision rather than a method. Tell us what you need to decide and we will recommend the simplest study that answers it, or tell you if you do not need new research at all.

Can you work with our own questionnaire, or field a study we have designed?

Yes. We can review and translate your questionnaire, script it, and field it with our verified panel, or recruit people for your own interviews and groups.

Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes, before you share anything confidential. Every Afridence researcher and field worker is also bound by confidentiality terms.

Cost and timing

How much does a study cost?

It depends on five things: how many people you need to hear from, how easy they are to find, the method, the length of the questionnaire or discussion, and where the fieldwork takes place. Your proposal sets out a clear, itemised price before any work begins.

How long does a study take?

Typically 1 to 2 weeks for a quick online survey of our panel, 3 to 5 weeks for a consumer, brand or pricing survey, and 3 to 6 weeks for focus groups, interviews, retail audits or mystery shopping. Your proposal confirms the exact timeline.

Can you run a study quickly?

Often, yes. Because our panel is already verified and profiled, we can reach many audiences without starting recruitment from scratch. Tell us the date that matters and we will say honestly what is possible.

Our panel and data quality

Who is in the Afridence panel?

Adults living in Nigeria who have chosen to take part in paid research. Each member completes a profile covering demographics and their shopping, money, media and technology habits, which we use to invite the right people to each study.

How do you verify panel members?

Every application is reviewed by an Afridence researcher before the person is invited to any study, and their address is confirmed. Duplicate sign-ups and shared payout accounts are flagged and held.

How do you stop poor-quality or fraudulent responses?

Every response is checked before it counts. Rushed, incomplete or duplicate responses are flagged automatically, questionnaires include attention checks, and anything flagged waits for a researcher. Nothing flagged is counted or paid until a person has reviewed it.

Can you reach people who are not online?

Yes. Online research reaches connected Nigerians well, but not everyone. For audiences outside it, we use phone, WhatsApp and face-to-face fieldwork in homes, open markets and stores. We will always tell you who a method can and cannot reach.

Which languages do you work in?

English and Nigerian Pidgin, with Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and other languages arranged for any study that needs them, using native-speaking interviewers and moderators.

Is the sample representative?

We design each sample for the question being asked. Where a study needs to reflect a wider population, we set quotas and weight the results, and the methodology note in your report explains exactly how.

Data protection and confidentiality

How do you protect personal data?

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Consent is recorded, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted by role, so each client sees only their own studies.

Will we see respondents’ names or contact details?

No. Clients see answers, never names, phone numbers or addresses, unless a study specifically requires it and the respondent has given separate, explicit consent.

Who owns the results?

You own the findings and data from research you commission. We will never share them with anyone else or use your results in our own publications.

How do you use AI?

To speed up quality checks, transcription and analysis. It never replaces the researcher: a person designs every study, interprets every finding and signs off every report. We never present AI-generated answers as responses from real people.

Coverage

Do you work outside Nigeria?

Our panel and field teams are in Nigeria, and Nigeria is our focus. If you need other West African markets as part of a wider study, tell us and we will confirm what we can deliver.

Are you a panel member, or thinking of joining?

Questions about joining, invitations, rewards and payouts are answered on the panel page.
